Generational and "Civilizational" Tides
Just as a Wiccan priestess may understand that it would take several lunar cycles to realize a given intention, so too might it take many generational cycles for our planetary collective to realize certain intentions, or rather, for certain trends in civilization to begin, mature, and reach fruition.
Our priestess, working on her garden, will stand at the perimeter of the prospective patch and visualize myriad flora arising in full bloom above her evergreen foundation. She must plan in advance her planting, and following lunar cycles, she must be consistent and meticulous. Over the months (the lunar months) she must know when to till, plant, and how and when to nurture the garden. She realizes that with each passing year her garden will, if properly tended to, reach a state close to her inital visualization.
So it is with all cyclic development. We follow the spiraling return of time, and we follow the linear progression of time. Both must be heeded after the Fall into Time, into Duality, and into a foreknowledge of death itself.
There is a Great Cycle in our solar system. We travel around the sun on a tight timetable, along with all of the other planets and their respective revolutions around the sun. To give some perspective on the life of the solar system, I will here share something a master astrologer and philosopher of the Twentieth Century, Dane Rudhyar, wrote about in his book Astrological Timing.
One of the "Great Cycles" of our solar system corresponds to 10,000 Earth years! In this period, Pluto cycles 'round the sun 40 times, Neptune's sojourn occurs 60 times, and the planet Uranus makes 120 revolutions, just shy of 12 times per millennium (11.94).
Interestingly, Uranus enters Aries, traditionally considered the beginning of the Zodiacal cycle in the west, in April of 2011. So at the relative end of the Gregorian millennium which began in 1000 AD/CE, Uranus is "starting over". This planetary symbol indicates an expansion beyond comprehensible boundaries. When it was discovered by William Herschel on March 13, 1781, our solar system vitually doubled in size.
We have the initiation (Aries) of "an expansion beyond comprehensible boundaries" (Uranus) in April of 2011.
