FIFTH POST
[Jade's standing inside a room filled with darkness. There's only one light above his head. A spotlight? He blinks and walks forward, but there's this child hunched over something on the ground]
Don't cry anymore, Nephry. I made you a new doll, instead of repairing that old one. It's exactly the same as the one you had.
[Jade's eyes narrow. Deja vu much?]
...J-Jade, how did you do that?
[Upon further inspection, Jade sees another figure. A small girl standing up over the small boy, tears in her eyes. He shakes his head slowly. The Balfour Children.]
No. This is...not real.
[When he looks up, the scenery is different. The dark room he was in was gone. He felt cold. There was snow. Keterburg.]
Professor Nebilim? What would happen if I used the Seventh Fonon?
[And sure enough, kid!Jade was talking to a grown woman with white hair. Her back was turned to the real Jade, and all he could do was watch]
Don't even think about, Jade. Only people who were born with the Seventh Fonon can harness its power. We're leaving it at that, alright? Now, go back inside the classroom.
I...I should have listened.
[As the woman named Nebilim left, Jade watched his younger self stare into space. Jade tried walking towards him, but the closer he got, the farther his younger self really was]
...but I want to try.
No...You must listen!
[Jade almost broke out in a run, but before he could reach the kid, the entire scenery was engulfed in flames. There was a strong gust of wind that spread the fire all over him. Jade's face scrunched up in agony and sadness. Watching.]
Saphir! Stop crying! Just pull her over to that side of the bank!
[The woman with white hair was bleeding, she was dead. Jade watched as two children desperately tried to pull her away from the fire]
I-I-I'm trying, Jade! [sniffles] She's too heavy! Oh, professor Nebilim!
[Jade's body slumped to the ground, his hands in his face]
You fool...you fool. Why? WHY?!
[The final scene. He heard his younger version's voice echo around him, but the scenery was different. Nebilim was alive. But she killed someone. She was killing people. And he was forced to kill her too. Or at least, try to.]
...We can defeat death and bring her back, Saphir. I used it on Nephry's doll, so it should work. It's called fomicry.
