So I'm really tempted with an iPad.
Now I realise this isn't entirly sane as they don't really do anything I can't already do, and its certainly no replacement for a proper computer.
But they do look really cool.
What I really want one for is to have a colour pdf reader I can store my gaming books on.
This will save my back as I'll not need to carry a library when I GM something.
(I'm getting old now anyway)
So do any of you have one, or instead see them as the touchscreen of the beast?
They seem to run book very well and when the iPhone 4 books and pdf package makes its way onto the iPad it should be all I want.
However, until then, do the current pdf reader apps let you store files and pull them up when you like. Currently the machine has no file storage facility (utter lunacy!) so you have to e-mail stuff to yourself, and I don't want to have to search e-mail every time I want to look at a pdf.
What also tempts me is the whole apps thing as I don't have an iPhone and some look rather groovy, although not groovy enough to justify buying an iPad without decent pdf reading.
Finally, if anyone knows of a good e-reader that has a colour screen and is the same size I'm all ears. Although all of those seem to be black and white, small or have no touchscreen. The ones that do are the same price as an iPad so I might as well get one of those!
Comment me guys, sell me/unsell me on iPads.
