RIP Sam Snake - 1994(??) - 2012

I'm sorry to have to report that Sam, the oldest of my snakes, died some time yesterday afternoon. He was eighteen or nineteen and had been refusing to eat for some time, so it wasn't entirely a surprise - but it's always sad when a pet dies. I'm not sure of his exact age, I first met him in 1995 when he was a couple of years old and adopted him in

18 is a good age. Still very sad though.

Sorry to hear that! He looks live a very happy snake in the photo.

He was incredibly laid back and easy to handle - I regularly took him into schools to let kids get some experience of reptiles, and there was never a moment's worry that he might bite anyone.

He'll really be missed.

It feels all too short now, but I suppose it has been a good few years. He'll be missed.
