recently, ive made aquaintence with quite a no. of people.
one of them who share the same <3 for ethnic music as i do.
just that he possess the gift of being 'perfect pitch-ed'.
he composes and expresses himself freely.
he made notes come to life,
i think he's really cool.
im glad to have known him.
there'll be so much to learn from this friend soon after As.
glad that he's conducting a gamelan workshop for free at NAFA this coming nov/dec all for free.
ive signed up, as an experienced ketuk/kethuk player =p
chanced upon this poem on his older entries and i find that i really like it :

A JAPANESE POEM
Because it has lived its life intensely
the parched grass still attracts the gaze of passers-by.
The flowers merely flower,
and they do this as well as they can.
The white lily, blooming unseen in the valley,
Does not need to explain itself to anyone;
It lives merely for beauty.
Men, however, cannot accept that 'merely'.
If tomatoes wanted to be melons,
they would look completely ridiculous.
I am always amazed
that so many people are concerned
with wanting to be what they are not;
what's the point of making yourself look ridiculous?
You don't always have to pretend to be strong,
there's no need to prove all the time that everything is going well,
you shouldn't be concerned about what other people are thinking,
cry if you need too,
it's good to cry out all your tears
because only then will you be able to smile again.

sat in for service today.
havent been there for months and whatever that guest speaker said today, i didnt catch them all 100%.
but yeaps. i've begun to categorise my life when they should be one wholesome self. most importantly,
"its not how much time u have, but how u make use of it.
but something kept nudging the behinds of my brain throughout service.
yes, i was trying to figure out the notes of the song sung today.
but there was something more important.

so you could say:
we chose to be discriminated in this very modern society.
we chose to bring on the potential wrath and sadness of our parents and siblings.
we chose this life of instability.
we chose to have suicidal feelings quite often.
we chose a life where we would be damned by most of the religious societies in the world.
we chose to lose many of our great friends.
we chose to live a life that is potentially lonely, especially when we get old.
we chose a life that will bring us more pain and suffering than happiness and contentment.
