that totally was not supposed to post beforeamymichSeptember 22 2006, 19:19:50 UTC
Dude, that was a reference to my muppet character. GET WITH THE PROGRAM
Speaking of which... I think the wedding cake is going to have a chocolate mousse filling. Mark doesn't like fruit in baked things (what is UP WITH THAT), but actually used the word "yummy" when the mousse was shown as a filler choice alternative. That pretty much sealed that! Just know there will be NO PILFERING OF THE NEWLYWEDS' TAKE-HOME CAKE! : P
Girlfriend, you said "chocolate." We don't tease the Nette about the chocolate!
A/D gets major props for the wedding cake choice. I consider it VERY manly to say "yummy" when presented with anything chocolate. And I'm sure Mel will totally agree with me on this point. =D

I just found the word hilarious coming from him. It was like he turned into a little five-year old for a moment, eyes all lit up. The A-D drops his guard sometimes. :D
Trouble is, I cannot find anyone for whom to make my world-famous apple pie, of which I have yet to develop a recipe, but that matters not. Though, Mark sealed his fate back when he ate my chicken salad...
Me: I'm going to make chicken salad for lunch, I have the best recipe! *bounce, bounce* Him: I don't really eat much of the mayo-based salads. Me: You'll like mine. *grin* Him: Ok, I'll try it. *grin*
AND HE DID. And he LIKED IT. The moral of the story is that my versions of things are better than the standard versions of things and so he'll have to try them anyway.
Don't you love having private conversations on other people's journals?!
Oh, cooking and new relationships - how fun! I remember the first time I made my "famous" spaghetti sauce for David. I was so proud. I set the table just perfect making sure we had everything we needed. So I was puzzled when he got up to grab something from the fridge. The next thing I knew he was dumping ranch dressing all over the top of his mound of spaghetti. I was aghast! He gives me this sheepish look and asks, "should I not have done that?" To which I replied, "how would you feel if I dumped ketchup all over your famous chili?" Point taken!
Oh, and if he won't eat your apple pie, I WILL!
Why yes, I do. Maybe it will make Mel post more often. =D
RANCH DRESSING?! The italian in me would have had a seizure. Is that how he eats plain pasta, or is that how he eats pasta and sauce?!
I think my homemade sauce was part of the first dinner I cooked for him. It started out being chicken picatta w/herbed risotto, but when I did the test run I discovered I needed a second test run with risotto prior to feeling ok about serving it, so he got regular pasta and my homemade sauce last minute. He liked it just fine. He's rather easy to please in the food department, I must say. He'll take gourmet, or he'll take soup and a sandwich. Bodes well for me since I'll be the cook for the couple and I'll bet there are days I won't want to make 45-step meals. Not many, but they'll come. Haha!
Great, now we just need to find a way to get the pie down there. Or I will perfect it by the time you come up here and we'll feast! : P
I almost had a seizure and I'm not even Italian! And yes, he likes it on pizza, too. But this is the man who would mix a can of tuna with kraft mac n' cheese and eat in front of the tube as a bachelor. =P
Easy to please is nice, though. I just wish my kids were the same way. Lauren will eat almost anything, but my boys are incredibly picky when it comes to food. Which is why I rarely go to great lengths in the kitchen any more. They like my pasta dishes, so I still make those on a regular basis. But who wants to spend 2 hours on a meal only to have it go uneaten? It was a battle I decided not to fight.
And I think you should perfect your pie when I'm THERE! That way we can spend hours in the kitchen with me as your apple slicer. Then stuff ourselves on the test runs. :)
