i just got back from watching Sin City. It was alright. nice story. everyone said it was going to be gory, but its not really. Since its all mostly black and white, you dont see any blood. the blood you do see isnt that bad. they do the stories of different characters and all the plots are real cool and by the end of the movie you dont want it to end. you want to see another plot from another character in the movie. it kinda pulp fiction like but not.
i also saw passion of the christ today in conformation class. which was really weird cuz i saw both extremes today, from sin to divine.
both these movies made me realize how filthy and disgusting the human race is. like in passion, all rabbis, jews, and soldiers are all ruthless and despicable, spitting at jesus, or just plain beating him to a bloody pulp. they didnt even know him. forget the fact he was jesus. they condemned him to death and didnt even know him. the roman soldiers beat him for fun. how disgusting are we.
in sin city, they kill like nothing. vengence is like breakfast to them. to me all the characters in the movie were selfish.
and today they showed a special documentary on the Don Haskin's Texas Western (aka UTEP) basketball team that won the NCAA championship. it made me feel good cuz the team, in the face of discrimination, showed they were better than society. but these stories of glory leave you to see the nasty racism they had to over come.
how far have we really come? is there still not rape, racism, hate, greed. will anything we do make a difference. is it our nature to be selfish. is the human race doomed.
