I haven't reacted to a vaccine since my pneumonia one (which about slayed me) I swear every Covid one I've had has been like saline in the arm, barely even sore. Last night the arm became too painful to sleep and today I am WIPED and vaguely nauseous. I could fall asleep at any moment. I'm starting to feel better. It even did the inflammatory jump my sugar into the sky. It was something else. I swear it's just because I'm going away this weekend. So nothing got cleaned or packed.
I did, however, submit two stories today. I am so happy with that. Again thanks to Evil Little Dog for helping me with both of them. One is to a high powered anthology curated by Chuck Palahniuk. I'm not here with hopes for that BUT I decided, why the hell not try. The Invisible woman one is probably a more realistic goal. But the stories are out there and did I mention I've been shortlisted for the trouble at work anthology?
Advent Joy Today it was to drink a hot cup of tea/coffee mindfully. It was in my wheelhouse. And today's advent tea was a black one, chai. It was a very standard chai, good but not outstanding (I hope the rest of them are a bit more adventurous)
Today I saw something that bothered me deeply. I almost DNFed the episode 5 minutes in but stuck it out to see if they gave an explanation for this. We have a female NCIS agent on NCIS Origins and this was her episode
and they chose to have her show her 'being in a box' at work (they never really explained that either, maybe she has to try to be one of the boys to fit into the 70s/80s/wtf era IS this) Boy's Club mentality.
So she's at a club with girlfriends (her boyfriend is home) and some guy comes up to them to dance, talking to her. She gets beeped (so this is the early 90s which makes no sense since NCIS came out in 2004...) tp get to a crime scene. She goes to the car and is sitting there gathering herself or something and this dance club dude opens the car and gets in uninvited.
this woman is a freaking law enforcement officer and what does she do? She has no alert to this red flag the size of a circus tent. Nothing. In fact she jumps him and has sex with him before going to the crime scene.
Am I nuts? Would ANY woman do this with a stranger who jumps into their car and won't leave because he thinks she needs him tonight? Later she learns her friend saw him go afraid her and came outside to be sure she wasn't being raped by this dude and saw what happened.
I found the whole thing utterly disturbing and I wasn't sure what it was supposed to prove.
