Hello exhaustion my old friend

Sep 12, 2020 23:06

Confirmation you are as exhausted as you feel. Some local politician just knocked on my door. He took a step back when I opened it. I'm so sorry I didn't mean to wake you up!! (dude you didn't, I'm just so far beyond exhausted I can't hide it)

I spent the day working up online homeworks and putting out Blackboard fires. SOBS. My Blackboard software is marking correct answers wrong on the exams (and I checked, I have the right answer programed in) so all of these will need to be hand checked. This on top of the fact Safari is now not working correctly with BB and all my Apple folk are freaked.

And happy birthday to shanachie_quill Hope it's a good one

I havent' done fic recs in a few weeks. Have some:

Sounds Like A Plan Prodigal Son

3 sentence fill Lucifer

Angie Analyzes: Prodigal Son Episode 8

untitled Prodigal Son/ Buzzfeed Unsolved

Let It Be Prodigal Son

Kiss Me Goodnight 911 Lonestar

unnamed Trixie Belden Mysteries/Three Investigators

And then I had a dream last night that needs relating
I really should start that dream journal. I had two dreams. I remembered the first but fell back asleep and lost it. The second dream was funny in a way. I found the ‘perfect house’ for me. I saw it online and it had an interior of brick and building block with open concepts and on various levels down a wide spiraling staircase, and right on the river. Technically everything I hate (so really brain?)

I was so excited about this place I got Evil Little Dog to come with me to do a house tour. In truth it’s a condo in a repurposed 1800s factory of beautiful red brick and fancy stonework. The slick blond middle aged woman in a suit dress who is showing the place tells me ‘oh the internet one is just a model and they’re all different condos. You’ll love it.’ I’m nervous because it’s 184K which is out of my price range but I really want this place. She opens the door and says this was the John Beechman house (like that should mean something to me and in the dream it did). It opened right into a bed room (weird) and the inside is OLD like 1700s old and it’s furnished. She takes us to the next room which was set up like a conference room with all the chairs facing a wall and sitting on orangish carpet. ELD was excited by that room. The next room could have been a living room with another bedroom off it. I’m thrilled because there’s a fireplace.

However she wouldn’t show me the kitchen or bathroom, literally jerking me away when I tried to go inside the kitchen which looked decrepit. Instead she leads me out onto a balcony with retractable steps which could be lowered to a porch/fire pit area that had steps right down into the water which okay was super cool. ELD was all over it. From there we walked along the water’s edge to the parking area which a) lots of boats in the water b) most of the cars in the parking lot were trucks and even they had water almost up to the doors. I’m like but my car will rust…She poo poos this and leads us around the property and back up to a busy street so I can see the front of the building.

“Look how convenient it is. It’s right next to a M.S.G. store.” God knows what that is but we were thrilled (as if I would ever want to live in-city). The property was on the intersection of Congress and M.S.G. Way (I saw the road signs). We cross the street to the store which was brick red and busy and three black Labrador Retrievers come up to us for a pet and a little black Schnoodle (for ELD of course). That’s when I woke up.

I still don’t know why my brain thinks things I’d actively hate would be my dream house but there it is, in my dreams (though being on the water would be cool until I got the first flood insurance bill)

work, these dreams, fanfic
