I predicted she'd start bitching about the mess as soon as she got inside. I was wrong. She started BEFORE she got inside. I've been cleaning for 3 weeks. this is as good as it gets. Get over it

Congrats for that and yes send me a link so i can buy one and say yes i know a published author. I'm happy for you and i wish you much sucess in furture endeavours as well.
Meh, I hate when parents do that. You clean and tidy and make all kind of efforts and it is like they have laser vision that spot just the jar of spice that you haven't put back in the cupboard or the wet laundry that you haven't gotten around to take out of the washer...
And for the little French lesson, it is "herbes de Provence" (or herbs de Provence though I've seen it less in recipes). For the little story, Provence is a region in France but many of the "herbes de Provence" sold abroad are actually plants from Eastern Europe, China or North Africa, as it is not a protected label.
I think it will taste very good with some roast Kanda. I see the appeal, I do. I love mock-biting my cat's thigh and threatening him with all sort of culinary torture...
Mom's a neatnik. I'm a slob. You can see where this isn't going to work.
Snort, yeah I didn't think I had that spelled correctly. I assumed, much like 'curry powder', whatever goes into the mix is up to the descretion of the maker.
Hahaha and Kanda is plump and would probably be juicy.
Yet another reason I avoid my mother coming to my house as much a possible. She said something one day about the idea of moving in, and I almost swallowed my tongue. I managed to play it off like, "ha ha, very funny! You almost got me that time!" and I think she got from my reaction that it would have to be absolutely a last resort for us to do that. I'd sooner slit my wrists.
I bought the new book just a while ago - took some figuring (first non-amazon ebook I've bought) for me to figure out how to get it on the kindle when I paid for it on the laptop - but I've got it now. The only format I got to open on the kindle was .pdf, but that works fine. I'd love to have any of the other stories - especially the ones that relate to this one.
i hear you. We went to look at the inexpensive (relatively) mansion in Wellston. We could share this. Want me to wreck the car Mom? Don't say stuff like that while I'm driving.
Why thank you. I can send you the two that relate to that (including one that was only offered for a short time as a Halloween treat) but I would read this one first as it is first in events, then Snowbound then a Brief respite. (and hopefully this Nano, a novel) I'm pretty sure i still have your email

Hope you survive the visit. I expect your place is extremely clean--moms just look for things to bitch about.

Well technically it's not. I'm a slob but it's WAY neater than last week
