My partner-in-crime cannonsburn is away on holiday until 12/1 and our current word count is 0. I don't want to drop out yet, because there's still that 5% chance that we'll finish in time. :P I'll let you guys know as soon as possible if we have to drop though.

my fic tackles a very difficult topic and while i did start it, i am no longer sure i can finish it the way i wanted. inspiration left me some time ago and it's been lying in the doc for about a month, untouched.

so my question is, what is the latest date when i can decide on and announce the signup change (i.e. it'll be another Barca pairing, not the one i'm currently struggling with)?

as I said in the post, latest date you can change your signup is a week before deadline, i.e. January 6. you've got some time, don't worry. best of luck!

This is probably a really stupid question but w/e- I've set my fic 4 years in the future and does that alone make it an AU? I'm a little fuzzy on what exactly makes an AU an AU. But if you need more background- they're coaching their sons' teams at the Sounders Jr Academy.

Also- I realize that the two players I picked to write about are attracting a lot of interest from clubs in Europe right now and if they leave during January, that will pretty much turn my story into an AU. Should I still finish it if it might become an AU?

have consulted with my better half, we figure it should be okay! especially since the theme this issue does sort of lend itself that. technically I don't think futurefic counts as alternate universe so long as it conforms with the timeline up to time of writing. don't worry if your story gets Jossed, it happens to the best of us!
