Rush Week
So yea I haven't written in a few days, but I've been so busy coming back to school and starting rush. The ride back to school went really smoothly, I slept most of the way so that was nice. Then Sarah's parents took us to get books, which was rather unsuccessful for me because most of mine weren't in yet, but that was ok. Then we went to lunch in Collegetown because none of the dining halls were open yet. Good thing, I'm not ready for dining hall food quite yet. So it was so nice to see everyone again after winter break. When I first got back, I meant to unpack but instead spent an hour and a half talking to Britt about our breaks. I didn't end up unpacking until later on Monday, but oh well, that's ok. So then Monday night I had a meeting for rush, learning all the stupid rules through a pretty pathetic skit. Haha fun way to start off rush week. I did get a pretty cool tee-shirt though. So Tuesday was the longest, most hectic day. We had to meet our recruitment counselors at 8:30 and I didn't get back to the dorm until about 8:30 that night. And we visited all 11 houses that day. It was really nice to see all the houses though, they were so pretty and the girls were surprisingly nice. So then there was day 2 where we had to go to a meeting and see which houses wanted us back. That was so stressful. Luckily I got called back to my favorite house, along with a few others I liked, plus some that I didn't exactly care for. Oh well. So then day 2 and 3 (yesterday and today) is house tours day where you get to see what the different houses look like. My favorite one, Alpha Phi, is gorgeous!! So after going to all my houses yesterday, I told Barbara I'd go back to the bookstore with her to get our books. Stupid me, now that all my books were actually in, I forgot to bring money so couldn't buy any. Haha being around all those ditzy girls might be starting to get to me. So then after yet another unsuccesful trip to the bookstore, Barbara, Britt, Julie, and I went to the mall for dinner and some shopping. How nice it was to eat fast food and spend money. Although I was good and didn't buy anything except for dinner. So after we got back from the mall, we got all dressed up and then all messed up. Haha, I wore out my pretty skirt, and it was really cold but that's ok. So the partise were fun, we went to 2 annexes down in Collegetown. Luckily we took a bus there and a taxi home. After getting home, I didn't exactly go right to sleep. I sort of slept in someone else's room on my floor, and I really didn't mean to at all. The most confusing thing was waking up this morning and finding myself alone in someone else's bed. I was so lost. But then I packed up my stuff and ran down the hall to my room so no one could see where I was coming from haha. And then since I barely got any sleep, I decided another 2 hours would be good considering I have another long day of rush today. And today it's snowing so hard outside, so I'm definitely not looking forward to walking around. Luckily my first house is right near the dorms and then there is a bus service that can take me to the others. Oh what fun rush week has been. Actually its been better than I thought. I met some really cool girls and seem to have found the right house for me (let's just hope they feel the same way..). Well, wish me luck because tomorrow is the last big cut. Goodbye until next time.
