Best Villain:
Look, I'm not even going to bother to get creative with this one!
Most Overhyped Movie:
there are A LOT, and it's one-upped every year, really. Just the marketing alone associated with the latest Transformers movie felt like, as Roger Ebert so aptly described it, "(going) into the kitchen, cue(ing) up a male choir singing the music of hell, and get(ting) a kid to start banging pots and pans together. Then clos(ing) your eyes and us(ing) your imagination."
But I'll alter this a little and say this movie:
Sure, I probably should've known when I heard it was called "Reloaded"... that's so juvenille, like they polled a bunch of rap-rock fans in 2002 what they should call it, and they chuckled and high-fived as they spit out this nonense. Reloaded? Get over yourself. That's so dumb.
I liked the first Matrix movie- I still think it's a good movie- I thought it was smart and fun and also over the top, the filmmaking was original and... good. (I don't feel like trying to read all good n' shit today) But this movie- well, this movie sucked. Sucked sucked sucked. They took everything good about the original and made it complete crap (the mental fuck-i-tude of finding out the entire reality we have is fake is the interesting, albeit not very original part, it was presented well- and dealing with and manipulating that change in reality... perhaps finding more people living within the matrix who will help free humanity, or actually having the action take place there and dealing with that issue- would have been way way way more interesting than the idiotic crap they came up with... GOD! I just HATE IT SO MUCH!!!!) All the interesting parts of the first movie were completely abandoned. Fucking hippy dance party!!! What the crap was that?
...that was in the first half hour of the movie if memory serves me correctly. While watching that I was like, "oh no... oh no... what the fuck is happening?" ...it made it OBVIOUS how much it was going to suck suck suck.
And it was marketed like it was better than the original- of course they HAVE to do that... but I don't remember the reviews of it being as negative as it actually was... I'm going to check rottentomatoes now... yeah- 73% fresh! ...what the crap!!!!! it's TERRIBLE!!!!!
I felt like a fool for believing it could be a decent franchise- felt like I was wrong to like the first one (I wasn't)... but I've been right since- every movie since the Matrix that the W-blah-blah brothers have made is terrible.
Movie I've watched More than Ten Times:
I'll just make a list of the ones that are "definitelys":
E.T.
Back to the Future I, II, III
Pee Wee's Big Adventure
The Wizard of Oz
The Neverending Story
Big
Beauty and the Beast
Blue Velvet
Aladdin
Ernest Goes to Camp
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
It's a Wonderful Life
A Christmas Story
Field of Dreams
And Most ridiculously, an obscure, made for PBS movie called "Brother Future" that my parents taped. It's about a street smart kid who goes back in time and becomes a slave and learns about black history:
I thought it was awesome in 1991!
I guarantee there are others but that's probably enough.
Saddest death scene:
Cmon, man! Have a heart! ...this is for sure the answer, right?
Scene that made me stand up and cheer:
I'm a huge baseball nerd. When Roy Hobbs is bleeding from the side and hits the ball so far he breaks the lights? ...yeah- it's calculated movie storytelling. Purposefully. But damn if I didn't love it and still think it's great. ...I mean, it isn't great. But it plays with my emotions effectively. great for me.
