Blurr didn't remember too much from before blacking out. Just the smell of gunpowder and burning skin in the air and vietkong shouting to their comrades. Of course when he was waking up he heard a much more pleasant sound. The young nurse tending to him had a voice like an angel.
"...and you're lucky they didn't have to amputate. Goodness you had so many bullets in there!" She turned to him and gave him a smile that made his insides shrivel then expand so quickly he thought he was going to explode. All he could do was smile stupidly back, which made her giggle. "You're also so hoped up on morphine that I could probably hit this leg of yours and you wouldn't feel it." So she raised her fist and started to bring it down when he jumped forward and grabbed her hand. Her smile grew and he slowly let go when he realized she wasn't planning on hitting him all along. Blurr laughed nervously.
That's when he finally got a good look at her and realized this nurse was asian. "Howdidyou....?"
"Get to be a nurse? My grandpa is Ratchet, head field medic." This statement only confused Blurr more. She seemed to see this and answered his confusion. "My grandmother is Japanese, so was my father. And of course, my mother." She seemed to look sad for a bit. "Of course now everyone thinks your doomed to die, because Japanese is apparently Vietnamese." She gave a small sigh and a smile jumped back onto her face. "But don't worry, I'm your best bet." She got up and reviewed his chart again. "And I will take the best care of you.....Name's Maru by the way....means 'circle'."
