My Obama shirt came in Tuesday; I wore it Wednesday. Yesterday I was verbally jumped by a classroom full of McCainanites of the idiotic variety. (I quote: "He has 'bomb' in his name, 'nuff said," and, "He was probably still back in the sand dunes when McCain was in Vietnam.") Ergo I am wearing my shirt again today. FiveThirtyEight has Texas at 1% for Obama at the moment, but as I told Meg the other day, I will be damned if I'm going to be a silent 1%. I have had more outright disagreements with strangers in the last two weeks than I think I have in the last six months; I hate confrontations, but this is just too important, and it's times like these that the disadvantages of living in the south seriously, seriously outweight any charm whatsoever. I am surrounded by gun-toting, pro-war, Palin-loving Republicans. God help me.
Obama has to win this. He just has to.
