Breaking News: Bush Sucks.
So President Bush addressed the nation this week, in both a radio address this weekend and at a press conference yesterday, to express his support for the Federal Marriage Amendment. (You can watch his speech HERE) Luckily, most of the mainstream press saw right through his actions as an obvious ploy to appeal to the 'pro-family' set, which has long supported him, in an attempt to salvage his abysmal approval ratings. Mid-term elections are coming up, after all. A friend of Bush was anonymously quoted in Newsweek admitting that that's exactly what Bush is doing, saying "I think it was purely political. I don't think he gives a shit about it. He never talks about this stuff."
Ugh, that makes his actions even worse. I mean, it's one thing to support something like this if you truly believe in it (though I'd still disagree with you), but to come out and support it when you couldn't care less? It's just mind boggling.
