Botcon and travelling
Just back from Botcon and visiting skyure.
I stayed with toyz at Botcon. There weren't many people there that I knew. I saw Artoni for a minute and autumnconstance came on Saturday and we hung out a bit. It was a really nice location. Lots of swimming pools and walking paths with flowers. I think toyz and I went swimming almost every day. Apparently my legs didn't appreciate my trying to swim after being awake and going for a day and a half. My toes and calves kept cramping. Good thing I can swim without using my legs!
It was the Doctor Who-yist Botcon ever. The hotel had statues everywhere and we joked they were Weeping Angels and we couldn't blink.
I spent more than I meant to at Botcon, but that's ok. I got a G1 Abominus and TFC Air Raid the first day. I also got the Botcon Pinkie Pie comic. The cover is false advertising. Optimus was not in the issue nor does Pinkie Pie cosplay as him. And IDW charged $10 for each of their "Botcon exclusive" covers, most of which were completely blank except for the title. But I got Livio to draw Hun-Gurr on the cover of my Monstrosity #1 for free. I now officially like him better than Milne, who gave the people before and after me sketches but not me.
I went straight from Botcon to visit skyure in Germany. We had alot of fun, going to old cities and churches. We went to one old Catholic church and she hit her arm on a gate. We joked it was God punishing her for bringing a non-believer into the church. We took her kids to the zoo. I never realized how hard it was being an adult with little kids at a zoo. We managed to miss the bonobos, but that's ok. Then we went to the beach in Belgium. We got there just as the tide was going out, so we didn't get to do too much swimming but we collected shells and interesting rocks. I buried her oldest in the sand twice, after both her boys "breaded" themselves in sand. Her poor youngest just about froze to death on the beach. We got lost in Belgium on the way back. That's what you get for overthinking directions. The last day we went to a castle, which involved climbing down a mountain to get there and climbing back up to get to the parking lot. We're both very out of shape and the mountain was steep.
Talked to skyure today and she says now both her boys want to come visit me lol!
