"As an Army Aviator, you get to pick one of two goals. You can fly to provide organic air support to the ground commander, or you can fly as an alchemical process of turning kerosene into flight pay." - Today's Academics Instructor

Today my Instructor Pilot called in sick, and we got stuck with a replacement. It was the sort of situation where he had his own idiosyncratic methods of doing things which were totally incompatible with my real IP's, and he wanted us to be using his. He might not be horrible to have as a permanent IP, but he really sucked as a replacement for a day.

Actually, he'd probably suck as a permanent IP as well: he has a nasty habit of adding uncoordinated control inputs without warning, even when I theoretically had the controls. I'm not a great pilot yet--I'm good for the amount of flight time I have, but that's still very little--but when I'm constantly trying to balance not only the helicopter's dynamic instability but the random "helpful" inputs this guy makes, I can only fly awfully.
