When they reached the point of the new arrival's teleportation, they would find a young woman with short black hair and a familiar countenance, clad in a white cloak.
The white cloak was a tip-off to a couple of the soldiers, as they'd been around long enough to go on the wild goose chase against a series of holograms in the city.
"Is that..." one started.
"Hold your position," the commander started, readying her comm.
"Amusing," said Dr. K, narrowing her eyes as she stepped towards the object. "Because, as I do not know your identity, I cannot ascertain whether this is indeed a pleasure or not... and considering your methods, you will likely find it very unpleasant rather soon."
"I'm sorry if I offended you," V apologized, "but I only had the best intentions. I'm not in a position now where I can reveal my identity, for safety reasons. But I assure you, I have the utmost respect for you."
Dr. K narrowed her eyes again, and did just as was asked. She walked in cautiously, not out of suspicion of a trap... but because that was simply her nature.
The Garage still bore the heavy damage from Venjix's attack. The wall separating the living space and the lab had a massive hole in it, and the cases protecting the Rangers' suits were smashed.
Still, the debris had been swept aside, likely to leave room for the wheelchair at the computer. Its owner sat there, her back to K.
Dr. K slowed, and... stared, her expression changing. She knew that person... and now some of her indignation and annoyance at being imitated began to evaporate.
Vasquez wheeled herself around to face K, smiling slightly.
"Hello, Doctor K," she said. "I wish I could say it was a long story, but... In the end, Venjix won in our world. And thanks to the virus, I ended up helping him."

"Hello there... will you please show me to the individual who has copied my modus operandi?" she said bitterly.

"Doctor V?" the commander murmured into her comm.
"Let me talk to her," came the voice from the other end.

"Hello, Doctor K," V said. "It's a relief to see you again."

"Doctor K, please come in," came a voice from inside.

She looked down.
"So in the end... it was I who failed everyone in this world..."
