For a job I really love

I'm late way too often. I was just filling in my time for the last two weeks, and my time sheet reads like a lotto drawing, just a lot of random numbers. I leave work twice a day, often, and end up working only 4 hours. I wonder if, behind their facade of indifference, my bosses are really disappointed. Hmmmmn. That being said, I was almost an hour late today and I'm leaving soon to give someone a ride to a nearby town. I sure have learned my lesson.

Last night I had a great time, after early plans fell apart, along with my nerves. There was apparently misinformation about the 48-hr Film Festival (which one of my friends acted in) so I cooked a crappy dinner to save time, made coffee in lieu of a much-needed nap (which I hate), and braved the rainy, traffic-ridden I-35 for 20 minutes, only to learn that (effectively) there was no point in going.

What's a girl to do?

Step #1:
I don't know what most would do, but I went to Wendy's and cleaned those motherfuckers out. Food is love.

Step #2:
Went over to a friend's house and saw a really beautiful book of pictures of Lebanon, heard a ridiculously loud sound system in a ridiculously loud truck (Texas, baby!), and inhaled my many, many burgers and compressed indecipherable chicken parts. Twas good.

Step #3:
Went to Baby Acapulco's (tiki sports bar/restaurant) with S. and a bunch of his friends. Cool peeps. AND I didn't drink. Not even one... except for a few sips of beer w/ tons of salt and lime squeezed in. Got to talk about traveling Europe w/ a guy who's going really soon, which always puts me in the best mood. It's amazing, seeing someone before they do something they'll remember for the rest of their life, like a big trip, or a gang bang.

Step #4:
Cain & Abel's. That's right. Cain & Abel's. "What are you thinking?", some might ask. "Going back in time?" would be another pertinent question. Sitting in that bar, facing my old apartment from sophomore year was pretty surreal. I hadn't been there (except to eat, late at night when it was empty) in years. Literally, not since I've been 21, I'm pretty sure. But, the Hardcore Apple Cider was chilly, company was great, and the night was topped off by some loser drunkass annoyingly trying to show off in his mediocre sports car after running into a chain-link fence and being heckled away by other ppl in the parking lot. "Hey, isn't that a V6?" was involved, I recall. Gotta love the college campus nightlife, ladies and gents.
