Laid off!!!! Yippee!!!
Well, I was laid off today from my job as an office assistant at a local heating and cooling business. Our winter has been so weird. Our temps are about 20 degrees higher than normal. No snow or rain or even freezing temps anywhere in site. So for a heating and cooling business this weather has dealt us a death blow. While personally I love it!! I have such a love/hate relationship with the place and lately the hate part has been about 90% winner. I am excited to be laid off!!!
I love working there and the people that I work with. However, the boss M has been staying more and more in the office trying to control everything. I have been fired 3-4 times, never stuck tho and been bumped from full time to part time twice. It has become a joke between M and I about being fired, "Have I said that you're fired today?"
M is the husband of one of my good friends and I have worked there for 3 years. I had pretty much taken over Judy's job allowing her time to spend doing whatever she wants to. Judy has always talked M out of firing me.
It had just gotten to the point I was thinking about leaving because of several reasons. He tried to lay me off the week of Xmas but I talked him out of it. In the span of 4 days I went from being laid off to working a shortened schedule to working full time but no overtime to getting a $100 Xmas bonus. Weird huh?
I hate going in to work with anxiety about the job. Now I don't!!! He was probably more upset about it than I was!!! While finishing out my day, I promptly applied for unemployment.
Planning on taking a couple of days to get over this cold my dad has decided to share with me and then who knows!!!!
