I manage to update tonight,

Oct 01, 2008 22:59

self discipline, I think I'm getting better at that. We've both been busy these couple of days, training as Information Officers for the Federal election scheduled for October 14. We'll be working at the advance polls, however which are this Friday, Saturday and Monday. From what I understand the work's pretty straight, mostly greeting voters and directing them to the appropriate polling station, but it should be interesting. The money's good too, which is very motivating.

I have to admit, I haven't been watching the campaigns as closely as I should. That's all right though. I've made my decision already and I still have two more weeks to change my mind if necessary. There are four main political parties in our area which is great because it looks like we're going to be voting for two different candidates, and our votes won't cancel each other out this way.

Not much else to report, except that I won't be working with the flowers this Friday. I don't normally take time off from that job, but an election isn't something that happens every week.

And one last thing, this meme, grabbed from elwenlj

"Offensive cyberattacks in network warfare make kinetic attacks more effective, (for example) if we take out an adversary's defense systems or weapon systems, " Lt. Gen. Robert J. Elder Jr., who commands the Eighth Air Forces's Barksdale base, told ZDNet.co.uk at the Cyber Warfare Conference 2008.
