I'm starting my Harry Potter reread today.

I wanted to do it this past summer, but I tried to start right before the move and it was too hectic. All the stuff with Wizarding World reminded me how much I wanted to do it, so I'm just doing it now. I was going to wait until after I finished Summer Knight but I'm too hyped up for it now. I had also considered rereading Harry, A History to gear up for the reread but A) turns out I don't need gearing up and B) my list of unread books is staggering and I can't really justify it. I will reread the chapter on Deathly Hallows before I start the last book though.

Anyway, if I start spamming Harry Potter on LJ, Twitter, or Tumblr for a while, this is why.

Oh! I did make a "greatest hits" playlist of Harry and the Potters songs to listen to on the way to work and stuff during my reread. The first three songs are from their first, self-titled album; the next four songs are from their second album, Voldemort Can't Stop The Rock!; and the last three songs are from their third album, And The Power Of Love.
01. Wizard Chess (I got a mysterious gift from my dead dad / It was an invisibility cloak, how rad!)
02. Save Ginny Weasley (Are you petrified of being petrified? / Are we going to have to save the school again?)
03. These Days Are Dark (And what comes will come / And when it does / We'll meet it with all of our courage)
04. The Human Hosepipe (Maybe you shouldn't have brought up Cedric Diggory / Because I'd rather not talk about your dead ex-boyfriends over coffee)
05. Dumbledore's Army (We don't care what the Ministry tells us / We won't be left defenseless)
06. The Godfather: Part II (You never kept me waiting / Come back now / Come back from beyond the veil)
07. The Weapon (And the one thing we've got is enough / To save us all / The weapon we have is love)
08. Save Ginny Weasley From Dean Thomas (Oh Ginny Weasley / You're so dreamy / Ginny Weasley / Ron's gonna kill me)
09. Dumbledore (Dumbledore, we'll fight for you tonight / Dumbledore, we all fight for you tonight / In our hearts we'll never let you die / Your love is keeping us alive)
10. Phoenix Song (Put your wand in your hand / Put love in your heart / Get your friends by your side / And tear evil apart)

If you listen to them in order, it's fun to hear the lyrics and their musical abilities get better. I can't lie, "Dumbledore" and "Phoenix Song" are easily my favorite songs and I get chills whenever I sing shout them in my car.

I'M SO EXCITED. OMG, HERE I GO.
