MAJOR spoilers for both shows. Consider yourself warned.
Dollhouse 2x05/2x06: The Public Eye/The Left Hand
These thoughts will not be in any kind of order and are not likely to be coherent, but here I go.
• Kilo! It's cute 'cause she's tiny and weighs a kilo! (Maurissa! I totally forgot she was going to be in this ep!)
• Alexis Denisof has really sexy hands. Just throwing that out there. I mean, he's just sexy in general, but I'm calling attention to his hands (did you see that scene when they were cutting out the GPS chips?!)
• ENVER GJOKAJ CAN DO FUCKING ANYTHING. He brings me to profanity, that's how amazing he is. HE FUCKING SOUNDED EXACTLY LIKE FRAN. Honest to God, for a second, I thought they had Fran ADR all the dialogue. But seriously. I wonder how weird it was for Fran to do those scenes.
• Speaking of Enver... does everybody remember before Dollhouse started when Joss was like "this 'they can be anybody' format means Eliza can show off her range" and it was soon apparent that it actually showed off her lack of range but whatever? THIS SHOW WAS MADE FOR ENVER. So he could do stuff like this and everyone can see what a crazy talented man he is. And he can become the huge star he deserves to be. CRIPES.
• Having the senator's wife be a doll seemed like the obvious route and damn, I'm glad they didn't go that way. Holy crap, I never expected Perrin to be the doll. But thank God for it 'cause it finally gave Alexis something to do besides stand behind a podium and talk. Did anyone else get flashbacks to the Angel episode "Billy" when Bennett programmed him to be an assassin?
• Tangential thought: Amy Acker, I miss you.
• Tangential thought #2: Dichen, I missed you, too, tonight.
• So, Madeline convinced Paul to free himself, huh? This should be interesting. I got all sad when he called her Mellie, though; I really liked them together.
• Dude, what the hell were Bennett and Caroline doing that giant chunks of concrete were raining from the sky and Caroline had to book it before the fuzz showed?!
• I felt like there was a little bit of River peeking out of Bennett; enough to make it fun, but not enough to be distracting.
• OMG when Bennett and Topher were talking to Adelle and Ray Wise and they were all giggly and sharing credit and Topher was like "I get to be the English one! Cool!" We knew Bennett wasn't good news, but that was still adorable.
• Did I mention the Topher and Victor!Topher conversations? That were hilariously trippy because they were referring to each other as "him-me" and the collective "we"? FRAK. ENVER. GOSH DARN.
• Poor Madeline.
• I really love Adelle and Topher's relationship. When they were in the car and he's bouncing around she keeps eyeing him like a mom with a toddler. We've seen that before - particularly in "Belonging" and "Epitaph One" - but I always enjoy it.
• I loved the editing that was done when Echo/Bree was fighting Cindy. With the way the fight was choreographed to match fights with her old imprints. Very nice editing job. Also nice to see a flash of Matt Keeslar's arms (YES, I'M SHALLOW. You love me anyway and you know it).
• Topher's skin is pink. Like a pig. ♥
There is probably a lot more to talk about but I can't think of anything else. I really wish I had DVR'd these. Definitely going to rewatch when they're up on Hulu though.
It's a shame. I may have said this before and, if so, forgive my repetition: like Studio 60, Dollhouse has a lot of flaws. But when it's firing on all cylinders? It's a damn good show.
White Collar 1x07: Free Fall
Fowler was way too obvious. I figured the man with the ring would be someone we knew (Peter's boss, maybe), but I honestly didn't think they would go so far as to make it Peter. Way to shake things up, show.
OMG AND EVERYONE SAW THE NEW "PSYCH" MUSIC VIDEO, RIGHT? AND YOU ALL DIED OF GLEE LIKE I DID, RIGHT?
Tonight was awesome for television.
ENVER GJOKAJ.
