i should watch serenity the episode tonight
I emailed my film professor a few hours ago about doing my first film paper on Serenity. Even though it is, obviously, a sci-fi film, I wanted to make the case that it can also be viewed as a Western.
He just emailed me back and said he didn't think I'd have enough to work with (besides visual iconography). BUT, he gave me permission to do it on "Firefly" instead! He just told me to look at the series on the whole as a single cinematic 'text.'
Series rewatch, here I come!
P.S. This will be the third Whedon paper I've written for school, fourth general fandom paper. College rocks.
