I love being home.

Ste gave me my birthday present last night: it's a songbook of piano sheet music for all of Josh Ritter's songs. I'm so excited to try them out! He also got me this little hand-screenprinted limited edition Josh Ritter notebook that's adorable. Hooray for Josh Ritter and little brothers!

This morning I had a dentist appointment and then I went to vote (woot! my first presidential election!). They didn't give me a sticker. :( Mom came with me because we were going shopping afterward. At Borders, I picked up Forever Odd and Brother Odd by Dean Koontz and American Gods by Neil Gaiman. On the way out, we passed a box of audiobooks on clearance and I saw that they had The End by Lemony Snicket read by Tim Curry for $5.99. I ran back to the register because, c'mon, how can you pass that up? Mom beat me there and said she'd pay for it. ♥ After that we stopped by the local Army surplus store to see if they had Eisenhower jackets for my Halloween costume (hells yeah I wanted to go as comic!Wendy Watson) but they didn't have any. Alas.

Also on the Square is this new used bookstore called the Book Shelf that raises money for adult literacy programs, which I think is pretty awesome. Mom and I stopped by to drop off a bunch of children's books we don't want/need anymore and then decided to look around. I walked out with The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, and the Sunnydale High Yearbook and The Watcher's Guide: Vol. 2 (someone had donated a huge box of Buffy stuff that the women at the Shelf were desperate to unload and I was too amused to resist) for... wait for it... $3. Yes, three dollars. Four books, three dollars. I LOVE USED BOOKSTORES.

So yeah, my book total for today is: 5 novels, 1 audiobook, and 2 companion books. I think I have an addiction.
