didn't see that one coming
Three finales in one night, oh good gosh.
Boooooooones 3x14: The Pain in the Heart
*CRIES*
Well there's a pain in my heart for damn sure. For serious, guys. I'm tearing up just typing this. Dammit, Hart.
Okay, okay, things I loved first:
1. Booth in uniform - HOLY GUH.
2. Nekkid Booth in his tub with a beer helmet, a Green Lantern comic, and a rubber ducky. And STANDING UP when Brennan walked in.
3. Big Brother Hodgins. When they first visited Zack at the hospital and Hodgins was tearing up and kept laying his hand on Zack's head... oh God. I love Big Brother Hodgins and Little Brother Zack.
4. Brennan and Zack. Oh my God. I've always thought they were closer than what was shown but they're both very... detached people which is why it was never shown. But in the hospital, when she kissed him on the head and told him she would get whatever he needed to finish his work, and when they were trying to get the confession and she talked with him like it was any other case and just rested her head on his, and then at the end when she was so upset because she never gave him anything.
5. Brennan yelling at Booth in his bathroom.
6. Brennan punching Booth.
7. Angela insisting someone would always be there because they all love him.
8. The look on Cam's face when Booth asks for the room. You get a slow clap for that one, Tamara. You broke my heart [even more].
I'm glad it wasn't Sweets or Hodgins. They were too obvious. But... it's Zack. He's my guy. After Hodgins, of course, he's my guy. He's.... dammit, he's Zack and he killed somebody. How could he... But he's still my Zack because he only got caught trying to keep Hodgins safe. He was just trying to keep Hodgins safe.
And, frak, at the end, when Hodgins just walks up to Angela and hugs her and buries his head in her shoulder and cries. (DAMMIT, SELF, STOP TEARING UP.)
The only time I was actually upset with Sweets: when he tried to say Zack wasn't insane. Thank God Booth pulled him aside.
The only time I ever seriously considered the idea that they may go the obvious route and pick Hodgins: when he started pressing Zack's pain medication button. He was kinda weird/creepy in that scene. But other than that. Oh, speaking of Hodgins: TJ HAS THE BLUEST FRAKKING EYES EVER. Also, he can wake me up like he woke up Angela anytime he wants.
At first, I couldn't imagine how Zack could have gotten sucked in. But when he and Brennan were laying it out, rationalization-style, it fit. I may not like the outcome, but Hart&Co. made it work. I thought - overall - this was an incredible episode. One of their best and, oddly enough, one of my favorites. Even though I'm devastated by the loss of Zack, I felt like everyone was on their A-game and it was just a really well-constructed, interesting, gut-wrenching episode.

Things we will no longer have with Dr. Zachary Uriah Addy gone:

LA LA LA He went for it and he KISSED HER and she was like UMMM YES LET'S GO ON A DATE RIGHT NOW. He looked so cute all dressed up!
Okay, when I think of Mandarin, I think of Firefly. Totally missed an awesome chance to make a Firefly reference, guys.
I found it super amusing that Sheldon was the one they both went to about the date. I mean, yeah, they couldn't really go to Raj or Wolowitz, but still. Sheldon.
