I was watching JK Rowling give a rare interview on Jonathan Ross last night, and sob. She talked about how she was so devastated at having to say goodbye and how she'd cried while writing the last chapters. I'm rereading six at the moment, and I'm over halfway through, and earlier today I was welling up thinking about what was to come. They're just words, on a page, how on earth did this thing happen?
I had this same exact discussion with my friend Reid last night. I've read these books since I was 13; by the time Order of the Phoenix came out, Harry and I were the same age essentially, going through roughly the same amount of turmoil. I never had to be swayed to like these books, I just loved reading them before I could get a chance to be affected by outside opinion. Eight years is a long time and I have such a connection with these books...

This was really beautifully written & it made me wish I had experienced HP from the beginning. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the final book.

I don't know. It's like an end of an era.
