Okay, the fact that Ben and Liv obviously TALK about everything in their lives -- YES YES YES. Discussing the adoption, and their fears of not being ready to be parents. All of it.

The entire snippet with Charlie holding the newborn Scout DOES THINGS TO MY HEART. It just rings with truth and her reaction is so legitimately CHARLIE. "How not to swear in front of newborns", omfg I just love it.

AMARI WRITING DANNY ON ROBBIE'S HAND: I CRIED. I CRIED SO HARD. And the fact that Amari will almost know Danny, just because of Robbie's memories, ACH MAH HEART.

Amari sleeping in Scout's room -- their bond from day one. How Scout translates for him and defends him, even though he's her big brother, aaaagh. Someone hold my bag, I gotta throw myself on the floor repeatedly.

Ben's scars, Amari's nightmare, Olivia is "Daddy's hero", the entire family cuddling in bed. ;_____;

Charlie knocks twice then bursts through the front door.
"WHERE ARE MY TINY HUMANS?" she shouts.
Dear Reader/Author: I screamed in delight.

UNCLE POOH BEAR.

Amari's eye-rubbing and the comment that he's "so like Ben".

PRETTY ARMS.

SPITFIRE.

CHARLIE'S NAME IN SIGN IS "MECHANIC".

"Harry would have been so very, very proud of you. Of you both, but you especially." She leans close and her voice drops to a whisper: "What he was to you, you must be for that boy of yours, mushka."
Ben swears it.
When he tucks Amari in that night, the little boy holds his gaze longer than usual, then signs thank you and crawls under the covers.
BRB, SOBBING FOREVER.

Awwww, Scout being so upset because she and Amari aren't in the same class, BLESS. And the fact that Ben calls her Mini-O sometimes. And that she's a perfect blend of Olivia and Charlie -- DID YOU READ MY MIND? BECAUSE THAT IS LEGITIMATELY SOMETHING I WAS GOING TO DO WITH ONE OF THEIR KIDS.

THE KIDS IN THE OLD COSTUMES.
When they trick-or-treated last night, Olivia laughed at their twist on the old story, Sir Amari out in front, protecting his dragon.

The fact that Amari's gift is based on eye contact, YES. And the fact that he's so tactile -- oh God, this is just so perfect and I love you for weaving all of these details in because this is the only way this could be for them.

Of course Charlie has a swear jar. OF COURSE SHE DOES. Ughhhh, and the easy and comfortable family-ness of them stretched out on the porch in OK, THIS IS JUST THE BEST GIFT A GAL COULD ASK FOR. Thank you so much for writing all of this and loving my characters so much and doing them such justice and I'm sorry that I encouraged you to put off homework but THIS PAYOFF IS JUST DELIGHTFUL, so thaaaaaank youuuuuu for this. ♥

(THANK YOU FOR LEAVING A LONG COMMENT, LONG COMMENTS MAKE MY LIIIIFE.)

Um, yeah, one of the things I super loved that you established with their relationship is that they actually talk about stuff. THEY COMMUNICATE SO WELL. Hooray.

"WHERE ARE MY TINY HUMANS?" was the line I hinted at earlier. I'm proud of it, ngl.

lol, it didn't occur to me until your comment that the old costumes to which I refer... are actually from the first Weird, USA fic I ever wrote you. I totally forgot they weren't canon.

I'm really, super happy you liked this. I wasn't sure; I felt pretty good about Strong Man, but I wasn't sure about this one so I'm glad you enjoyed it. :D
