"why are you shouting?!" (sorry, m)
I'm back from Ohio! I had an awesome time - I got to see so many friends and so many old favorite places and the wedding was just so lovely - but I'm not really gonna talk about that because it would be a nostalgia-filled post about people none of you know. So instead I'm gonna talk about the voicemail I got on Saturday night.
So Saturday night my friend Maria (whom I stayed with) and I were getting ready to leave the wedding reception and my phone starts vibrating. I check the screen and see that phrasmotic (Marjory) is calling me. The music from the reception is still pretty loud and Maria and I are about to walk across a parking lot in downtown Akron in the dark so I put my phone away figuring either Marjory will leave a message or I can call her back later.
Maria and I get in the car and my phone beeps to tell me that Marjory has left me a message so I tap the voicemail button and I hear this: Hey Lizz! This is Natalie Morales. I just wanted to say hi and Marjory gave me your phone number and told me to call you. It kinda sucks that you didn't pick up your phone but, uh, I hope you're doing well and thanks for talking to people about our little tiny show and being cool and, uh, yeah I'll talk to you on Twitter sometime, I suppose. Okay, bye!
And then I shouted "HOLY SHIT!" and thank goodness Maria wasn't driving yet because I would have startled her and that would have been bad. BUT YEAH, phrasmotic met Natalie Morales (at a Q&A for her new movie "6 Month Rule," I think? Correct me if I'm wrong, Marjory) and then asked her to call me and SUDDENLY I HAVE A VOICEMAIL FROM WENDY WATSON WTF. Part of me is really bummed I didn't pick up the phone so I could actually talk to her, but it's also kinda cool having a voicemail I can listen to [number redacted] times.
So, yeah, that happened. And this, too. It should be noted that I have had [brief] phone conversations with Javier Grillo-Marxuach (creator) and Brendan Hines (Tyler Ford) and now a voicemail from Natalie Morales (Wendy), all courtesy of phrasmotic.
A rewatch is absolutely in order.
