Quick update during my lunch hour...
The Beach Blast that Gary and I are dj-ing is this Saturday. I went to his house a week ago to practice some songs we want to sing. There's a lot of things on the itinerary that we need to do during our time, so I'm not sure if we'll get to sing all the songs we practiced, but it was a lot of fun. Definitely looking forward to it!
Andrea found a wedding dress this past weekend! And only at the second store they went to. The dress is really pretty, and I'm glad she found one. That's one check (of many) off the list of things to do before the big day in October. Her mom also picked out her shower date, so that's another thing that's moving along. We're planning on going to get her wedding ring this weekend as well, so we're knocking things out. It's hard to believe it's only been a year since we've been together, let alone less than 8 months away from our wedding. It's actually 8 months away today, exactly. That's crazy!
Amanda stayed the night Saturday while Andrea was dress shopping with her mom. It was no nice to be able to spend some time with her and catch up on things. I feel like I don't get to see anyone anymore, so it was great to just relax, drink some wine, and watch tv. We also talking about some possible bachelor party ideas, so we'll see how those pan out.
As I'm writing this, I realize it's been awhile since I've talked to my mom or gma. I mean, like at least 2 weeks. That doesn't seem like such a long time, but it really is for me. I'm going to have to give them a call soon. Why do I feel like I'm way more busy than I actually am?
Speaking of being busy, work is going good. We've been increasing our number of submissions to open positions we have, and I've been meeting regularly with my boss and her husband on ways to improve. We meet weekly now to discuss how we're doing, I'm keeping "working" documents of our processes that will eventually serve as a training guide, and I'm tracking our submission, interview, and closure ratio. I get a lot of positive feedback from my bosses here, which is always nice to hear.
Andrea and I are officially studying to become PHR certified. We have our first of an 11 week class this Thursday to prep for the exam. I'm excited about that as well, it'll be nice to learn about all aspects of HR, more than just what I've been exposed to thus far. It'll be a good way for the both of us to grow professionally.
Alright, with that out of the way, back to work!
