Conversations and figuring things out. With kneel_majorzod

Cordelia glanced at Zod over her shoulder as she added chocolate sauce to the coffee and ice for the frapuccino she was making him, as she'd promised. She smiled as she found him watching her and then went back to what she was doing.

"Do you still want to try and figure out that Blackberry?" she asked, offering him a smile.

He nods slowly, letting his eyes close for a moment. "As I told you before, I'll have a new life ahead of me at some point in the near or distant future. I'll give you all I can until then, but when that day comes, I'll be less tied down. And able to spend more time where and with whom I choose to."

She studies him intently. "You keep mentioning this new life," she says softly.

He meets her gaze for a few seconds before speaking. "I've already told you a bit about my business, haven't I? I'm trying to protect the human race, much like you are. The life I keep talking about is what comes after this world is saved."

Cordelia nods a little. "About that. You should know, if you need any help, I'd be happy to do so." Her voice is soft, but sincere.

He smiles a little at her words. "I really appreciate that. And you should know that I extend the same offer to you. Always. If you ever need help fighting Vampires--or anything else--I'd be happy to assist you."

And she smiles back at him. "Appreciated." She kisses him softly. "Speaking of vampires...I read up a little on Smallville but haven't read about any attacks there. At least not any that point to vampires."

He returns the kiss, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. "I certainly haven't seen any in the few months I've been there. Why is it that they're so common here?"

"Probably because Evil Incorporated operates here." She draws in a breath and lets it out slowly. "This place called Wolfram and Hart. It's a law firm. I'm not a big fan of cliches, but this is one case where the term evil lawyers really is redundant. They're into raising demons and setting them loose in the city, among other things."

He raises his eyebrows at that. "So this law firm is the cause of all this?" he asks quietly, absentmindedly picking up his drink and taking another sip. "They must be very terrible people."

Which is what Zod's opinion would be of anyone who put Cordelia in any sort of danger

"I'm not sure they're the entire cause, but they definitely cause a lot of the chaos around here. And it seems to have gotten worse in the time I was gone." She frowns a little.

He frowns as well, gazing at her with concern. "You mean your visiting me may have made it worse?"

She blinks and looks up at him, surprised. "No. I meant...the five years I was dead." She offers him a smile. "At one time, this city was pretty well under control as far as demons go. I mean, yeah, there were still a lot of them, but..." She shakes her head. "It was nothing like it is now."
