Me being an excellent human being and watching a heck-load of television

Dec 20, 2010 12:53

Hello all!

It's 7:30am and this is my fourth day of getting up early regardless of how well I've slept!  - something I've been trying to do on-off for about a year but often I've felt like I haven't had anything to get up for but now I'm feeling a lot more positive :)

The last few nights I've put my laptop away and laid down, turned off my light at usually around 1am (though one day about 10pm!) and even though all four nights I've kept drifting in and out of sleep and wake up around 6am feeling really achy but can't get to sleep after that.. I've still persevered!  I'm so proud of myself :')

My back/body generally has been hurting really badly so I've had to take some Ibuprofen etc. sometimes which I'd managed to stay away from for a while because I don't like/am not supposed to put any chemicals in my body and I used to have them pretty much every day and got kind of dependent on them which I don't want to happen again.  But if it keeps me up and not getting back into the bad sleeping pattern etc. then it's worth it if I take a few every couple of days if it gets really unbearable.

I've also had a few moments where things haven't gone exactly how I wanted them and I haven't been in control (like if there's nothing on TV or Hermione needs to go do something without me so I think she doesn't want to spend time with me anymore) but Mum, Dad and Hermione have all been amazing at making me feel better - especially Hermione.  I honestly have the most amazing family ever ♥

Hermione and I have spent most of the time watching Supernatural which is AMAZING!!!
We've been sitting in my bed in the dark all snuggled up (despite Hermione's hatred of hugs and love.. if I get too close she often hits me.. it's a hard life) and I hate horror - especially... well, supernatural things - so it's been pretty intense!  But it's such a brilliant show!  I completely love it!
The random little comedy moments are fantastic - I'm genuinely laughing just remembering them!

Also I am KIND OF SORT OF TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH Sam.  Actually Sam is an emo lamey pants (genius emo acknowledgment quotage last ep we watched where Dean says: "I just figured after Ava, there'd be more angst, more droopy music, and staring out the rainy windows. (glare from Sam) Okay, I'll shut up now.") but I love Jared Padalecki who is completely adorable.  I was immediately drawn to his dimples (because. I mean. this is me we're talking about) but as I said, Sam and his laptop are hilariously ridiculous so I preferred Dean at first.  Dean is still genius obviously but Sam slowly got more personality as the first season went on and I watched a few interviews with Mr. Padalecki himself and he is a wonderful human being and... yeeeahhh.  I love him.  And Dean/Jensen Ackles.  And the show in general.

Next up, the Christmassy goodness that is Home Alone!

I don't really have anything to say except that Kevin McAllister is my hero/dream son and this is one of my favourite movies ever despite my only having seen it all the way through for the first time on Christmas day last year (I weep for my childhood)!
Also it makes me laugh out loud to an embarrassing extent.

"I'm a criminal."                                                                                                                                            “No clothes on anybody. Sickening.”

Nextly, The Proposal!

SO MUCH LOVE FOR THIS FILM! ♥

I wanted to see it at the cinema when it came out but never did for some reason..
I love Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds, romantic comedies.. so things looked good for this movie.
And although I'd heard about a certain "hilarious" scene that turned out to be not as funny (usually happens when you're expecting something), it was still a really great movie with lots of cute and funny little moments.

Oh - forgot to actually say!  I watched it yesterday with the family snuggled round the fire :)
Our dad is the bestest - he loves romantic comedies so we all really enjoyed watching this ♥

OK!  So!  Ugly Betty anyone?

I don't have any gifs and seeing as the series hasn't yet finished in the UK (she just got her braces off!) I don't want to look for any as I hate spoilers!  So please refrain from commenting with any :)
But I just had to mention the show because I've watched it right from the beginning and at the start of this series I was sad because it was getting kind of boring but since that annoying cult storyline's finished it's been back to the amazingness we all know and love!
SO GOOD :')
Everyone's stories are slowly being wrapped up into neat little adorable parcels and I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!

More good TV you ask?  Well, Have I Got News For You may be just the thing you require!

I can't remember ever watching this programme and not laughing till I've been on the verge of tears.
So good.

(Considering the HIGNFY tag on Tumblr consists of largely Cumberbatch perving I feel it is my duty to include some too)

(But back to this week)

Alexander Armstrong is adorable and one of my favourite HIGNFY... hosts?  Are they "hosts"?  My mind has suddenly broken.
But never mind.
Look at the adorable jumpers!

Ian Hislop: They told us we could wear our own clothes tonight.

We actually watched HIGNFY before The Royal Variety Performance so didn't know of the full genius of Micky Flanagan when we watched HIGNFY.
BUT NOW WE DO AND WE LOVE HIM.
So good.

The Royal Variety Performance was actually really good this year!  We usually have to fast-forward most of it due to embarrassment/boringness but 90% was totes super!

Lastly, Matt Cardle continues to be adorable and excellent in all things.

And Aiden Grimshaw is also continually amazing.  There's nothing new to really say here, just that I still love them both.

I continue to get excited about every little thing the two of them do.

I continue to overuse the word "continue".  Just for this though I think.

I don't know how to lead up to this now but Aiden miming and dancing to 'Barbie Girl' for Matt the other day was beautiful.

So now I believe all there is left to say....

MERRY CHRISTMAS FRIENDS LIST!!!!

I will read what everyone's been up to later - I've been very lax in my friendly duties of late.
BUT I WILL BE BETTER!
Love xx

P.S. This season of The Mentalist is brilliant.  I just saw a repeat was on TV and it reminded me I was going to talk about it.
But now I can't be bothered and I don't know where my gifs are and.. YES.  I do love it though.

i done good, the mentalist, alexander armstrong, the proposal, matt cardle, supernatural, aiden grimshaw, my sister is my favourite, ugly betty, home alone, hignfy, my family is the bestest, benedict cumberbatch, so much love
