(from BtVS 7:4)

I definitely knew I was in my post-visiting girlfriend blahs when I cried during my doctor's appointment today (although I do feel it was a positive and productive appointment). But instead of detailing more of my lameness, I am trying to channel how good I felt in yoga and point you to a couple of things that made me happy:

This interview with Wilson Cruz (Rickie on My So-Called Life). God, I absolutely loved that show. It was definitely the first TV show I felt passionately about before BtVS. Reading the interview made me teary which possibly may just be my mood. BUT the interviewer notes how MSCL influenced BtVS and Cruz talks about his own coming out experiences paralleling those of Rickie and also how he sees MSCL's influence on Friday Night Lights. Such a great interview and it makes me want to run home and rewatch some MSCL, which I may do (as well as the new Friday Night Lights of course!).

Buffy #1 Butt-Kicking Babe. When Entertainment Weekly initially posted this list, I was quite surprised that Buffy wasn't included. I'd been expecting her to be #1 (which she is now), and this wasn't a crazy expectation considering how EW has always championed BtVS. So I was one of the hundreds of people who commented appalled that Buffy was omitted. It's actually kinda cool that they responded and corrected the list. This makes me oddly happy, although this possibly just indicates my ridiculous love for EW.

I realized I haven't talked a lot about my current television viewing lately. So I shall try to rectify that. *g*
The TV Shows I'm Watching:

Monday
So much good TV, so little time!
How I Met Your Mother - Still loving it.
The Big Bang Theory - Meh. I may stop watching, except I do love watching sitcoms.
Heroes - Still enjoying but am hoping more things will, you know, happen soon.
Chuck - Ridiculously fun. I'm getting such a kick out it.
Dancing with the Stars - Awesome! So many good dancers!
Samantha Who? - I laughed out loud multiple times during the pilot. It has me so excited!!! Yay for another good half-hour comedy!
Everybody Hates Chris - Loved the season opener and since haven't had time to watch more. I think it'll be one of the shows I save up on my PVR.
Aliens in America - Haven't seen it yet. I keep meaning to check out the pilot to see if it's worth saving.
Journeyman - Still haven't seen it yet BUT am looking forward to it!
Corner Gas - The only Canadian TV show I watch. Still funny, still enjoying.
Um yeah, I'm practically watching ALL the TV on Monday, thus why there's so many shows that are building up on the PVR.

Tuesday
A much calmer TV schedule which helps me catch up on Monday shows.
Bones - Still enjoyable TV, not the best show ever but I do enjoy the characters.
DWS Results Show - I've been pleased at who's been eliminated so far (as in, not the best dancers) but was worried about Mel B in the bottom 2 last week.
House - I'm enjoying the new format. I love when shows shake things up!! Because I'm trying to keep my TV watching manageable so I have time for my writing, I'm going to save this up and watch later.
Reaper - Really awesome! I enjoyed the first 2 episodes I saw. I'll probably save it up too (it's nice to have good shows to look forward to).

Wednesday
I am about to state what may be an unpopular opinion so hope I don't offend people when I say: WTF is up with the crappy shows on Wednesday?! I couldn't stand Pushing Daisies and was so bored during the first episode of Bionic Woman that I didn't tune in again. And these new shows aren't doing much for me:
Private Practice - Why is this show so bad? There's fabulous actors and good writers (or so I thought), yet somehow things aren't coming together. I'm not sure how much more of this I can take waiting for it to live up to it's potential.
Dirty Sexy Money - This was so fun at first but it seems to be squandering a lot of it's potential with silly uninteresting storylines. What's with the guy twin being in love with a vapid girl we care nothing about? There's so much more interesting directions they could go.
Back to You - Meh. I like the actors but it lacks a spark or something.

Thursday
Thank god for good TV I can rely on!!!
My Name is Earl - I'm enjoying the prison stuff so far and the flashback episode was fun. I may still be an episode behind.
30 Rock - Oh yeah, no sophomore slump here. Still awesome funniness. I'm continuing to love this show.
The Office - I'm really loving this season. I'm an episode behind but am really excited about the direction they're going this year. Still a favourite show of mine.
Grey's Anatomy - End this horrible George/Izzy thing please!!!! Um, other than that it's still (mostly) good entertainment. I'm a bit worried about last night's episode though (which I have yet to see).
Ugly Betty - I've only seen the first episode so far but I'm also continuing to enjoy the show!
Yay for Thursday! You totally make up for Wednesday.

Friday
Friday Night Lights - Still my favourite drama on TV, despite being worried about the same storyline everyone else is worried about. And despite that I still love this show.

Sunday
Desperate Housewives - I stopped watching in S2 but have been casually tuning in this season (and not *just* because of Nathan Fillion although he's certainly a motivating factor), and I've been really enjoying the show. Last Sunday's episode with the pot brownies was pretty fun and awesome. It feels like some of that S1 awesomeness is back.

Whew! And now you see why I haven't written about my TV watching... I'm having a hard time watching it all!

dws, mscl, ugly betty, the office, corner gas, btvs, heroes, entertainment weekly, how i met your mother, everybody hates chris, house, tv, 30 rock, fnl, ga, bones, my name is earl
