Thanks for the completely awesome feedback - it totally made my day! Yay for hand clapping! That's wonderful to hear that it recalled "be cool, sodapop" - I love that moment.
I think one of the reasons I love all those characters (you're so right about Angel, Logan and Weevil) is their appreciation for the tough tiny woman. It's fun to reference that about Spike & Xander in a slash fic.
I'm pleased you enjoyed the cellphone line. And yes, poor Logan! Things just don't go well for him, do they? Thanks!! *g*
*giggles madly* Hee hee, will we get Spike doing an Intro-to-killing-the-undead crash course? *imagines Spike hanging with the PCHer* More more more more more!
Thanks! Yay to giggling! *g* It'll definitely be interesting to see how things work with the PCHers in the mix! More should be here next week. :D Thanks!
Spike was looking extremely pleased with himself. Xander glared at him. That just sums them up, beautifully. :D
I love Spike being cowed by Veronica Mars (note use of full name!!) And "cucumberness" is an inspired term. *g*
His hunch was confirmed when she whipped out an iBook. Hee! Must have the Mac-using, kinda-cool-but-also-nerdy research-girl!
Another lovely, fun chapter. Spike, Logan and Weevil all blustering, posturing, and all of them thinking about sex and blond girls ('cause yeah, you know Spike's thinking a bit about this too) - excellent.
Thanks! It does sum up Spike and Xander, doesn't it?! I'm glad you enjoyed Veronica in command! The VM-verse is very much her world so I didn't want S/X coming in and taking over (even if they know about vampires and she doesn't). She also would totally be in the know and take control of the situation.
I love Mac's character, so it's fun to have her in it! I'm using my icon with her (on the left) and Veronica (on the right). Even though the actress who plays Trina Echolls is Alyson Hannigan, Mac is much more similar to Willow.
Yay to enjoying the chapter, and the blustering and posturing! I like including their interest in kickass blonde girls in a slash story.
I know I mentioned this to you in IM, but I thought I'd answer your PCH question here so others can see if they're wondering: PCH is the local bike gang and Weevil's the leader of it. PCH stands for Pacific Coast Highway (the highway near Neptune), so they're the Pacific Coast Highway bike gang. Oh! And they're the bike gang that passes Spike & Xander in the first chapter.
Hee! See, I didn't even know AH was in it! I had to read that a couple of times before I parsed it correctly in my head. Mac totally sounds like Willow.
Nice to know about the biker gang. Thanks. :)
And yes, I think the interest in blonde girls is completely appropriate (and in-character.)
Yes! AH plays Trina Echolls, Logan's sister - one of the girls they're rescuing. I didn't decide on Trina because she's played by AH, but it's a fun connection. Trina Echolls is princessy and kinda bitchy - not very Willow-like.
Also Charisma Carpenter plays a very Cordelia type character on the second season of VM. Rob Thomas, the creator of VM, is a Buffy fan and ensured that AH & CC shared a scene together in an episode. Oh! And Joss Whedon (who also loves VM) had a small guest starring role in season 2.
“Don’t make me send you boys to the corner.” Veronica had stepped forward and was giving each of them stern looks. Spike gave Xander a Who does she think she is, Buffy? look, or at least that's what Xander read into the raised eyebrow.
XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
OMG! Yes! YES! They've GOT to meet! oh the conversation they would have!
Thanks! I'm very happy that you enjoyed that moment! It's fun to play with the similarities between Veronica and Buffy - and have Xander and Spike pick up on the similarities. A Veronica and Buffy meeting would be very cool! *g*
I just found this..it's fantastic. I love both shows and you've got the characters down wonderfully. The whole sarcasm with witty comebacks are fall down funny and I love the comparisons between Veroncia and Buffy because they work so well. The last line that Logan throws out is sooo him. Can't wait to see more.
Thanks so much! I'm delighted that you found the story and are enjoying it! That's fabulous to hear about the characters - that's very important to me. That's excellent that you're finding the banter funny. :D
It's great fun to compare Veronica and Buffy, and I think it would be hard for Spike & Xander not to notice some similarities. Yay to looking forward to more - I'm posting new chapters every Tuesday. *g*
