News & thanks for the New Year
Happy 2013, everyone (doesn't that sound amazingly futuristic?)
- Thank-you to write_light, riyku, tebtosca, marciaelena, altruisticinteg, shoofus, and monicawoe for the virtual gingerbread mans! They are adorable, and very low-calorie :D
- Thank you to beckaandzac, who wrote me Charlie/Jo college AU for spn-j2xmas :DDDDDD It is seriously delightful, go read!

- Thanks to the mod team, the newsletter team, and all the volunteers who have helped out at at samdean_otp. It's been great working with all of you!
- Speaking of the comm, we're having a commentmeme, now that all of the many holidays fests and exchanges are over - come prompt, write, or art! All welcome :D
- Also, there is a now a teensybang devoted to Genevieve Cortese-Padalecki, which seems like an utterly adorable idea, and I expect a lot of fic and art about the glamorous alpaca-raising, otter-charity-ball-attending Padalecki-Cortese lifestyle.
- In other news, I got a cold just after Christmas, which has developed into a lovely case of laryngitis. I stayed home sick today, and had plans to get all sorts of things accomplished but actually spent most of the day asleep. People have plied me with ginger tea, Ni Jiom syrup, and all sorts of other remedies from a variety of cultural & medical traditions, many of which have made me feel somewhat better but none of which have allowed me to vocalize anything louder than a wheezy croak, and mostly all I can manage is a whisper. It is excellent for getting sympathy, however!
- Looking back over my fannish year, I have not always been happy with the direction of my main canon, and none of the others I've dabbled in have come close to replacing it. But the thing I have always been happy with is the fandom itself, and my flist in particular. Just knowing I have such a smart, creative, amusing, generous, and generally lovely group of people at my virtual fingertips has made my year immensely better. Thank you all for being here!
- ETA: speaking of the f-list, is anyone in touch with maraceles off LJ? I hope she's OK - I though maybe she'd deleted temporarily for exams or something, but it's been a while :(
