So Mike and I settled on what we think of as nice colors for our wedding. They're a deep red, cream and beige. I found some red votive candle holders on ebay for fairly cheap (from a vendor with lots and lots of positive feedback) and so I was going to order them. Then Mike started saying how he wasn't sure this is what he wants, which then led to a multiple hour discussion of whether we should have deep red table clothes or the beige ones like we had originally said. Would there be enough color with the beige, with all that red it's easy to get tacky. Back and forth we go. And at this point I just can't help but think that as an adult who is very busy why should I be spending literally hours concentrating on my table cloth colors. I mean I certainly want it to be nice and for everyone to have a good time, but the table colors really aren't the point now are they.
I somehow have the feeling that I'm going to be having this conversation in my head several times over the next 11 months. I really want Mike and I to be a formal and official family and I can't wait to be married to him, I know I'm really lucky to find someone who makes me so happy, I just don't know how much of this I really care about compared to other stuff I'm worrying about (like internships). I'm sure it will all seem worthwhile once it's together and we get to see the final product with all our family and friends there.
Ohh and just in case you were wondering we decided that there are other places online to get the red candle holders for slightly more, so first we are going to see what table clothes are available for a reasonable amount of money and then decide if we want to go with red or beige. Thus putting off the whole decision until more information is available.
