The Internet is a wonderful thing
I was really pissed off that the Lost Season 2 DVD wasn't coming out until October, because I had just started watching Lost shortly after the beggening of the second season, but stopped so I could watch the first one on DVD. So I had to wait until the Second Season DVD came out to watch the rest.
But, because of the wonderful intarwebs that I surround myself with, I could buy the entire season off iTunes for 40 bucks (20 bucks cheaper than the amazon.com listing price...although I don't get extras). The quality is very good. I can full screen it with very little blur, color changes, or stretching. They are only 200mb in size, so I can fit a bunch on a DVD. It will look great on a TV, because the two South Park episodes Ian download were smaller and of worse quality, but they still looked pretty good on our TV. So overall, I am very happy with my purchase. It did take a while to download all 28 episodes, though.
