I am so very grateful for all of the wonders and signs of protection God has shown!
Recently, I started out my day looking for every sign of Life, I could find! There were so very many examples and illustrations of beauty, joy, and activity. When I first started out of the house, I saw a mom stopping to re-adjust her baby's hat in her stroller. Then she vigorously got right back on track, and started running again. Beautiful demonstration of vitality, endurance, joy, and caring. As I made my way to work, I was hoping I would witness the birth of a baby animal alongside the road in one of the farms I pass ... unfortunately, I didn't get to ... but I was sure it had to be happening, somewhere. Then, approaching the doors at work, as I was working to keep everything piled in my hands, a cheery woman began walking beside me (she was headed to the gym right beside my work), and she began talking about the glorious day, and, noting the cake I'd baked, she jested that she was headed wherever I was going. Then, she kindly opened the door for me, and wished me a delightful day. What kindness and generosity of spirit she offered me. Of course, throughout the day it's easy to see signs of Life ... I call them Funny Bugs ... you may simply refer to this breed as 3-year olds. In any event, they kept me on my toes all morning. Then, in the afternoon, a mom, I've gotten to know quite well, came in with her daughter. They wanted to begin enrolling for the upcoming sessions (we just opened enrollment this day). I took care of the transaction and went to help her with another task ... she simply told me she knew it was busy and that I didn't have to come help them. I felt obligated to help them ... so I stayed for a bit longer. Then, the phone rang, and I went to answer it. As the phone conversation concluded, I went back to help them again; once again, the mom said it was not necessary - she knew it had to be a busy day with all of the enrollments. I felt such a sense of family and ease. She and her daughter are always able to make themselves at home when they come in ... and that's what our place should feel like. We want everyone to feel like family. And this helped cement that idea for me ... and of course, family is always vital, active, and creates a sense of shelter. Further into the afternoon, I found I'd made an error in signing one family up for the upcoming sessions. Without me having to approach the mother, she came to us and said there was something amiss, and she felt she should have paid more for the session. This was another clear demonstration of Truth, honesty, and integrity. We were able to fix the error, and she easily forgave me.
I can't say enough how grateful I am for everything He is constantly doing for us ... caring for us, loving us, and feeding us the creative, spiritual ideas that consistently meet our material needs.
Each day there are so very many little moments that are easily passed over ... but when we really begin searching for them ... we can begin to appreciate every little thing.
An article I read recently on the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico contained this quote: "Looking to the Bible for inspiration, my thought goes to the prophet Elisha’s experience, as recorded in the second book of Kings. The sons of the prophets desired to build a larger meeting place. As they were building, one man lost the ax he had borrowed when it fell into the water. Distressed, he asked Elisha for help. Elisha took a stick and threw it into the water. The ax floated and was recovered. The so-called laws of nature were shown to be in submission to the law of God.
The laws of nature may outline just how the oil is going to flow, or what place it should touch by what time and what day. But the law of God, the divine law, is higher than the law of nature and governs it. It is not beyond God to govern the current, wind, and animal life to bring about a safe and complete solution to this issue. God’s law governs all, and affirming this truth in prayer is our effective defense, and an effective defense for those on the scene."

What a beautiful reminder of God's loving Principle!
