Before my trip I remember being extremely nervous. The truth was, I really wanted to be a good ambassador for Americans and prove that not all of us are ignorant assholes, etc. I remember constantly worrying if there would be an iron in our hotel room because most of my shirts are cotton blends that wrinkle easily, and I simply could not walk around the streets of Germany looking like a wrinkled mess! One time Mr. Ziemann mentioned something and he said, "...because I'm not trying to impress any Germans", and I just thought, "...But I AM!" You know? And now that I look back on all of that insecurity and apprehension I felt before my trip, I just realize how silly I was being! As soon as I began meeting Germans and realizing how welcoming and awesome they were, I didn't even think about my shirts being wrinkly!
