My mother's computers are the most tempermental pieces of hardware I've ever known. Not only does she have strange little problems with them whenever I touch them, they get odd quirks in general. I tried to play a DVD on this one tonight. Now it acts like the video card or something is fried for the finder, cloning the mouse icon, causing static in the windows when I scroll them and then eventually freezing up.
My laptop on the other hand has fallen onto floors (carpeted, but still), become probably very fragmented over the years, gone everywhere I've gone and has had no more problems than a logic board replacement that was built in originally and replaced under warranty.
