Decompression mode.
A play-by-play of recent goings-on in my life:
-I have to say, there's nothing like being on Facebook around 5 AM because people in the other apartment complex are being fucking loud and finding out by accident that your SO Facebook-dumped you without saying anything at all about it. I'm STILL attempting to find out just what the fuck happened, because that is totally not acceptable. This is also the root cause of my last drunken LJ post. (On a side note, I don't wish to be that drunk again...worrying about whether I have enough food to keep my blood sugar high is not fun.)
-McD's has been rather fun lately. It seems like something weird is usually happening whenever I go in for my shifts.
~One day, the ice cream machine was broken and EVERYONE AND THEIR DOGS wanted cones/sundaes/McFlurries that day. Our shake machine was working properly, but nobody wanted shakes. Except for this one lady in drive-thru who wanted me to give her a heavily-discounted shake because she couldn't get ice cream. *sigh*
~The very next day, the ice cream machine was working again, but the men's room was flooding due to a clog in the urinal. I have no idea how long it was doing that, but apparently someone had seen it and DIDN'T TELL ANYONE about it, because there was a wet floor sign near the bathrooms and my managers had no idea what was happening. The best part was when I ran downstairs to grab paper towels to refill the dispenser in the women's bathroom and I found out the ceiling was leaking. I spent an hour mopping up the flood in the men's room. There were two mop buckets full of water on the floor in there!
~We have coupons for free medium fries and soda or tea if you buy an Angus burger. Not a big deal, most of the people in drive-thru are perfectly understanding when I tell them I have to charge the fries and drink until I actually see they have a coupon with them. Except for these two douchebags who hounded me and whined and whined that they were being charged extra and didn't shut up until they figured out I wouldn't cave in and I wasn't allowed to cave in. So they come to the window and then promptly pull the "hurrhurr, we forgot our coupons at our apartment, can you still give us free foodz lolz?" At least they sucked it up and paid for it all instead of getting mad and driving off (though actually, I wouldn't have minded them driving off that much, it'd just mean they were leaving me the fuck alone).
-Last night at McD's deserves a bullet point of its own. I accidentally dropped someone's iced latte when I was giving it to them in drive-thru. Luckily it only made a mess on the pavement, but I was still super embarrassed about it. The lady who ordered it was really nice, though, and she patiently waited for me to make her another latte. It was still rather embarrassing, but I'm thinking about it now and giggling just a little bit. Nothing truly eventful until we got SLAMMED with McChickens, and then someone wanted two double Filet o' Fishes. I jumped back into grill to help out since there was only one person back there at the moment, and damn, I was dropping chicken and fish into the fryer like mad! Eventually, there came a point when my two managers and I (who were all on headsets) decided to do a round robin sort of thing when people came to drive-thru, where we'd take turns talking to the same customer. The first customers we did this to were just dying of laughter when they came up to pay xD Everyone else was either cracking up, kind of confused but just going along with it, or pretending everything was going normally. And my friend Holly and her friend came through drive-thru while we were doing that, and it was all sorts of fun. :3 And holy cow, I got so much free food yesterday!Besides my employee meal (plain double cheeseburger, substitute Swiss cheese, with mushrooms=MOUTHGASM, btw), I got a mistakenly-made Oreo McFlurry, a hot fudge sundae that my manager made to show me how to properly make them, several chicken selects that had already been counted for waste but our grill guy didn't want to throw away, and five cookies and three apple pies that were going to be thrown away if nobody took them. That's more free food than I usually get from McD's in a WEEK. So yeah, last night was awesome~
-My roommate moved most of his stuff up here yesterday. I helped him, his brother, and their parents move his stuff, and it got done really quickly, and now OMG MY APARTMENT LOOKS INHABITED!!! I wanted to help my roommate's brother move into his place too, but I had to help Roommate take his stuff to the School of Music since his card access was turned off over the summer since he wasn't here, and then I had to go to work. :( But yay, FURNITURE!
-BAND CAMP ON WEDNESDAY. $30 (I think) ON WEDNESDAY TOO. PAYCHECK ON THURSDAY. FINANCIAL AID REFUND ON FRIDAY. I WON'T BE POOR ANYMORE (at least for a while, anyway)!!!
