Posting stuff for sale on LJ?

OK, I'm trying to minimize the stuff I actually list on eBay, so I have a question for those of you who have successfully sold things on LJ: How long should I leave something listed before giving up and listing on eBay?
Any and all advice is appreciated. Uh, just make sure it's relevant. :P
