I'm back home now after an excellent long weekend and not nearly enough sleep. So, the highlights:
Thursday - posted off my coursework at last. Once I'd arrived in Edinburgh, I visited the (relatively) new bit of the National Museum with
suzerain and went 'Oooh!' and 'Woo!' at the fossils and the ritual objects and everything, and acquired a new stone cat. In the evening, went to see 'Hellboy' with
bringeroflight which I enjoyed - plenty of tentacles, and I liked the blue Deep One guy. I also have a feeling that Coracaskia is about to become SuperRavnos, embarking on a daring mission to save the world and all the things that make life worth living (i.e. strokeyness, sparkly things, feathers and breaking the rules). Or at least she will do once I get round to sending off my Camarilla UK membership stuff so I can play again.
Friday - finally made it to Roslin chapel with
scunthorpe - the gargoyles and green men truly are impressive. I think another visit is called for in winter time though - I have a feeling that it's a winter sort of place. In the evening, went to the Auld Hoose, where I drank Addlestones, followed by Finsternis.
Saturday - Superheroes night! I went as Ragged Robin from 'The Invisibles' - thanks to
cairmen for the suggestion, reference material and amazing resourcefulness in the face of tights-related difficulties ;) There were some excellent costumes, though the club itself was actually pretty quiet so we adjourned to Emmental for socialising and 'Invader Zim'.
Sunday - headed over to Glasgow for AuntiCon at Jennie's flat, which involved playing 'Paranoia' (remember, the Computer is your friend), a 3am game of 'Dino-Hunt' and more 'Invader Zim'. There can never be too much Zim :)
Monday - read more of 'The Invisibles', ate cake and generally chilled out before heading to the S.E.C.C. to meet my family, we all went to the McFly concert (surprisingly good, actually) then home and sleep at last...
