Life is strange, but good. This week has been excellent. I finished the fifth Harry Potter and Hattie has lent me the sixth. Work has been good; I'm happy to stay busy. This morning I woke up and went out to a new conservation easement with Teresa. It's about 200 acres of open field and a small wooded hill out in Valle Crucis. We walked the boundaries and photographed the barns and property lines. AND TOOK GPS READINGS! Unfortunately we didn't have enough satellite signals so none of our waypoints got recorded. Boo. But that just means I get to go out and do it again soon.
I got a sewing machine for my birthday so I've been plotting my next projects. Tiff has contracted me out to sew her a Cruela De Ville coat for her halloween costume. Hojo will be back in about a week I think. Sara's coming up soon and moving in across the street shortly, which will be marvelous indeed. And Jessica's coming to visit next weekend!!! It will give me a great excuse to take off from work and clean the apartment and go on adventures.
I have eaten fish three times this week. I cannot explain why but my body is craving it now, it's getting a bit ridiculious. Salmon, sea bass, grouper, tilapia... I think I have dreams about eating fish. Mmmm. Tonight I made a salad for dinner at work and on the way home I thought "I would love some white wine with this." So I bought my first(legal) bottle of wine. It's not great but I commended myself anyway, considering I know zip about wine. And I had a fantastic dinner by myself.
Yesterday evening I went to the Las Cabriolas show at Boone Saloon. It was a good show although I wish Tiff had been there to dance with. They did play three of my favorite songs and Johnny bought me a beer so it was a nice night.
In the morning I'm going to the farmer's market and then hopefully tubing with Camilia. I really don't want this summer to end.
