Why Yes, I Am Made of Brilliant

Rain rain rain rain rainy-rain-rain.
Buckets and barrels and back-end-loaders of rain.
The robins like it, they're bathing in the puddles.
Of rain rain rain rain rainy-rain-rain.

I posted this as a comment at browncoat_2x2's LJ and I thought it made a nice impromptu poem to describe my Friday. *Bows*

Took Luke through the rainy-rain to see an eye doctor. He needs glasses. His vision is worse than mine - I could read the stuff he couldn't without my glasses. I blame it on gameboys and DS's and the doctor agreed with me. The good news is that glasses (or contacts) could help him hit a ball this spring. The heck with seeing the blackboard.

It's an office-waiting kind of day as both boys have annual checkups this afternoon. Lucky Luke got to go in late and will leave a touch early. Pizza and hockey (only on TV) tonight; basketball, Follies practice and Luke's hockey tomorrow; hockey, a Big Video Shoot* at our house, and Superbowl on Sunday - well, that's my weekend. This is why, Mel, there is little time for writing until next week. But I am so proud of myself that I am actually going to finish a chaptered story. Maybe even next week. Then maybe someday I'll try original fic, like the lovely kit_the_brave.

*Big Video Shoot: Luke has do an other-media biography book report. He has chosen to shoot a video on James Garfield, past American president who actually died a few blocks away from where we live, at his Summer White House in Long Branch. He has written a script for a Garfield press conference, complete with jokes, and his buddies and several of Bookworm's will be here Sunday to shoot it. Should be amusing.

I am happy today because I recorded Errol Flynn's "Adventures of Robin Hood" off of TCM this morning. I can't wait to watch it with my kids. My sisters and I grew up on this movie and it has bothered my that my kids haven't seen it. We grew up on it to the extent that I am pretty certain exactly what quote jpgr is going to leave in the comments, if she goes with her first instincts and doesn't try to mess me up.

And, that's the report from here.

movies, chez co, luke
