I'm not from around there, but I watched the game ten years ago, and I watched it last night, even through extra innings. <3 And I think they should have worn the hats (and if they were all the same players from ten years ago, I think they would have), but I think they felt like they had them on anyway. They didn't let the Muggles get them down.
That was a beautiful opening ceremony and I wish they had worn the caps as well. I think they said some were wearing them while in the dugout. I fell asleep on it (up at 6) so I have no idea what happened.
Some people just get so full of themselves, like those Major League bureaucrats, and should definitely be thumped noses at. But then, like Jules said, don't let those muggles get you down! There are loads of good things happening in the world. And soon I'll be on your side of the pond - any chance of meeting up, d'you think?
You're in NJ, aren't you? We'll be driving through on our way from Mount Vernon to DC - and we'll definitely have several days in the city before doing so...
