Stormy Down the Shore

Feb 17, 2010 11:05

Not wanting to tempt fate, but the snow here turned to rain sometime last night, and continues as a "wintry mix" that is mostly rain. This is what happens when you are a mile from the ocean. What also can happen is really ferocious winds, and they're still predicting that the rain willl turn back to snow and the winds will whip up into the 40 mph range. That's what concerns me most, 'cause that's when we lose power. We are, in fact, under a blizzard warning. We got away last week with only about 7" and kept power. Can we do the same today? Keeping my fingers crossed. Because snow days are fine, as long as I have power and trees aren't falling on my house and car. And because I have a big special ed meeting scheduled for tomorrow night that I've gotten lots of PR for, and I'll be sad if we have to cancel it.

Midwesterners, be careful shoveling out. MidAtlantians, New Englanders, stay safe. Daisy, don't hate me because I'm not snowed under. Oh, and if you have power, I expect fic!

Edited to Add: Yeah, that snow? Came back. Big time. Not so sure about school tomorrow...

weather, snow
