I Am/I Am Not

I'm Mike.
Not Michael (except to select family), and most definitely not Mikey.

I'm an accountant.
Not a novelist, but a journalist; my job is to tell the truth, however uncomfortable.

I'm a Christian.
Not the Bible-thumping, intolerant one that makes the news; the quiet one, who lives his life of faith and only talks about it when asked.

I'm a boyfriend.
Not in the traditional sense--unless "online and long-distance" has become the new "traditional." unmowngrass could tell you more about that.

I'm a game-player.
Not with my friendships (again, ask Katie about that!), but with my friends: Scrabble, poker, video games...anything with rules and score-keeping, I'll play--and play to win.

I'm a sports fan.
Not the paint-your-face, own-ten-fantasy-teams, hyper-obsessed one; the one who can appreciate and dissect a good game (and mock a bad one) without letting it run his life.

I'm me.
Not anyone else.
