The Tribe Has Spoken
After 29 tumultuous, heart-stopping, roller-coaster weeks of therealljidol, I've finally been bounced.
On the one hand, outlasting nearly 300 other writers to make it to the top 36, writing 27 entries that combined to receive nearly 750 votes, and surviving 223 days of twists and turns sounds like a big accomplishment. And it is. One which I will rightly be proud of...eventually.
Right now, though, being eliminated stings. Not only because I'm a competitive SOB, and (having made it this far) I had my sights set on winning this thing.
No, it stings because I know I went out with less than my best. If I had truly brought my A-game and gotten myself eliminated, so be it. But I didn't, and that's gonna nag at me for a while.
Okay, end self-flagellation. Time for the "thank you" portion of the program:
--Thanks to Gary for running the show, and for helping to keep this community together. You provide all of us writers with a great forum to expand our horizons, and keep it fun (if a bit evil). Rest assured, I WILL be back next season.
--To all of the new friends I've made this season (I'm probably going to miss a few, but here goes): alephz, alien_infinity, dslartoo, ecosopher, everywordiwrite, java_fiend, karmasoup, lrig_rorrim, mac_arthur_park, michikatinski, pixie117, sarcasmoqueen, shadowwolf13, theafaye, tigrkittn, unmowngrass, and whipchick. (If I missed you, I apologize. Also, anyone else who wants to friend me, feel free.)
